Spartans hero Watts-Jackson leaves football to join Air Force

Jalen Watts-Jackson’s game-winning score for Michigan State in a classic 2015 game against Michigan cemented his name in Spartans history. Now, he’s chosen to make his name in a different way.Watts-Jackson announced in March he planned to play elsewhere as a graduate transfer, but instead, he has decided to give up football and join the military.”I am going into the Air Force,” he told Spartan Nation. “I was raised that it is a good idea to serve your country. I have family members that have served this country, including my dad. So I am excited to serve this nation.”Watts-Jackson said he will enter the Air Force as an officer in late December or early January. He said he is taking classes to become certified in computer security and will focus on cyber system operations in the military.
