No. 2 Baylor coach Drew tests positive for COVID-19

Baylor head coach Scott Drew tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be with the No. 2 Bears when they open the season Wednesday night against No. 18 Arizona State in Uncasville, Conn.Associate head coach Jerome Tang will take over for Drew, who said he has remained asymptomatic since receiving his positive test on Friday.The rest of the team tested negative on Friday and again on Sunday, according to a statement posted Sunday by Drew on social media.Drew said his test is the team’s first positive result in the past 12 weeks.”I immediately began self-isolating and assisted with the necessary contact tracing,” Drew said in the statement. “… While it will be difficult watching from a distance, I know the team is in great hands with coach Tang and our entire staff. I look forward to returning to the sidelines as soon as I can do so safely.”
