Ole Miss suspends hoops activities through Dec. 7

Ole Miss on Monday suspended its men’s basketball activities through Dec. 7 due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing.The school canceled this week’s Justin Reed Ole Miss Classic as well as the Rebels’ Dec. 5 home game against Memphis.”The student-athletes and staff affected are taking appropriate safety measures in accordance with university protocol,” the school said in a statement.Ole Miss did not state how many members of the program were affected. The school announced last week that coach Kermit Davis tested positive and was in isolation.The other programs scheduled to compete in the Ole Miss Classic this Wednesday through Friday were Central Arkansas, Jackson State and Arkansas State.
