Report: Georgetown player arrested in D.C. killing

Georgetown wide receiver Dijon Williams was arrested in Georgia in connection with a first-degree murder case in the nation’s capital, according to Fox 5 in Washington, D.C.U.S. Marshals made the arrest Monday in Gwinnett County and Williams is a suspect in the killing, according to the report.Williams, a senior for the Hoyas, is from the Atlanta area.Georgetown is not playing football in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The school issued a statement saying Williams has been suspended from all team activities during the investigation, according to policy.”Georgetown University became aware of charges against Dijon Williams this evening,” the school said in a statement issued Monday night. “While we are working to learn more information, we will cooperate fully with any investigation and we stand prepared to offer resources to members of our community who may be affected by this news. At this time, there are no indications that the alleged crime took place near the University.”
