Villanova F Cole Swider transfers to Syracuse

Villanova forward Cole Swider has transferred to Syracuse, the Orange announced Tuesday.Syracuse said the 6-foot-9 Swider signed a financial aid agreement with the school. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining due to the NCAA “free year” policy in response to the coronavirus pandemic.Swider averaged 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 25 games (two starts) as a junior this season for Villanova. He averaged 18.8 minutes and made 35 of 87 (40.2 percent) 3-point attempts.In three seasons, he has career averages of 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 77 games (17 starts).Swider announced he was entering the transfer portal last week. The quick selection of Syracuse isn’t a major surprise as he strongly considered the school while in high school prior to choosing Villanova.
